From Nothing to Overflow Luke 5:4- At the Lake of Galilee Jesus taught the people from the boat belonging to Simon Peter. After his discourse He said to Simon: "Put out into the deep, and let down your nets for a catch. And Simon answered, 'Master, we have toiled all the night and took nothing!" (Luke 5:4-7). Peter, who had years of experience with fishing, faced a dilemma, a challenge. On the hand, there were sobering questions as fisherman. On the the hand, Peter had great admiration and affection for Jesus. With his spontaneos nature, Peter replied, “nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net.” Because of there obedience, Jesus took the disciples from empty nets, and from washing their nets and giving up to Overflow. God wants to bless New Bethel, but we are going to need to do our part. If everybody doesn’t do their part, we will sink. God is telling us not to give up because he is going to bless us and those who have been, proverbially our ride or die, they are going to receive from our overflow. Jesus tells the disciples to launch into the deep at what they thought was the wrong time and wrong place. (verse 4) . We are used to being blessed during tax season. We are use to being blessed during the Christmas season. We have limited oursleves to what we think is our time and our season. God wants to bless you when it is not your season. You are used to coming up short, but God wants to bless you with an overflow. God wants to take you from struggling to striving. He wants to take you from sick to being healed. All you have to do is Obey Jesus, Launch Out because your Overflow is one word away. We are One in Christ. Dr. Robert J. Fields
